In the early 1970s, sterns widened and hulls changed, increasingly geared towards cruiser/racer designs. Michel Dufour, however, looked to the past, creating a new small cult classic. It’s the Dufour 27, a small cruising cabin boat, comfortable, seaworthy, with classic lines, a narrow stern, wide maximum beam, and impressive stability. It’s small, agile, and against the trend, a success with over 320 hulls built.
