Born from the brilliant hand of Michel Dufour, this 34-footer stands among the milestones produced by the shipyard, namely the great hulls of the early years, contained in that first decade of ascent under the founder’s direction. Launched in 1974, the Dufour 34 carries forward the brilliant insights developed for the iconic sister ship, the Dufour 35 of 1971, now containing in slightly more compact spaces the comfort and seaworthiness of its predecessor. The hull is thus characterized by pronounced overhangs, a moderately shallow fin keel and a skeg-mounted rudder. The interior layout features a U-shaped galley with sinks aft, central head and V-berth forward, all designed to ensure real comfort while cruising. Noteworthy here is the unique position of the genoa sheet tracks, directly integrated into the toerail, a solution that would become common decades later.
