The Benello shipyard built this Gaia for skipper Holm, a well-known international sailor, who began the series of boats called “Puma” with this very boat, which he raced. In the years 1967-68-69-70 this design achieved numerous successes in regattas both in the Mediterranean and in the ocean.
Since 1980 it has been owned by the Meriggi family, renowned sailors from Livorno,
among the various successes, notable mentions include:
1984 – “Nelly I 9728” 1st place at the Peroni Nastro Azzurro Cup – Yacht Club Punta Ala
1985 – “Nelly I 9728” 1st place at the Peroni Nastro Azzurro Trophy – Yacht Club Livorno – National Championship for Production Racing Boats
