Launched from 1986 and built in over 50 units, the Oyster 55 was designed by Holman & Pye to meet a specific need of the shipyard: to introduce a 50-foot bluewater yacht to the market that is simultaneously safe, seaworthy, elegant, and fast. A request not easy to satisfy, but H&P achieved the miracle, creating a cruiser with great qualities that could also be built on a semi-custom basis. A great success.
