The Comet 375 CL, designed by Doug Peterson (waterlines) and Michel Joubert and Finot (deck), was built between 1987 and 1993 by the Comar shipyard in Forlì, with 112 units produced. Masciò is the CL (Comfort Luxury) version, with two cabins and two bathrooms. Like its counterparts, it’s a solid and well-finished boat, with particular attention to the interiors designed by Corazza and with advanced technical solutions for its time: central engine under the saloon table, forward sail drive, high maneuverability, and a keel with a terminal bulb that lowers the center of gravity, improving stability and comfort while sailing. High-quality interiors, with details such as marble sinks and fine wood finishes, make it still appreciated today. Among these examples is Masció, a Comet 375 CL whose recent history is documented from 2016 to 2022 through updates and images on the dedicated Facebook page at FB- Comet 375 CL Masció. During those years, the boat was in the hands of an owner who sailed extensively in the lower Mediterranean, between Tunisia and the Egadi Islands. In 2022, Masció passed to a new owner in the Gulf of Salerno, then changed ownership again in 2024. Currently, it has a new life in Genoa, awaiting the completion of important system renovations and refitting that will soon be documented on Masciò Comet’s FB page.
