One-off designed by Bruce Farr, commissioned by the German architect Helmut Jahn, who relocated to Chicago. Her name was Flash Gordon and she won 3 IMS World Championships in 1993, 1994, and 1996, with Terry Hutchinson at the helm and a crew of Olympians. This boat, with structural runners and a 7/8 rig, was the first of 6 Flash Gordons, all designed by Bruce Farr, and paved the way for the subsequent Farr 40s produced for one-design racing.
